FREQUENtly asked questions

What is your photography and editing style?

My photography sessions are best described as natural and casual. I usually direct my clients to talk, walk, and laugh or whatever fits the moment. In addition to candid moments, I facilitate some traditional smiling poses here and there. I try to have a good mix in galleries that I deliver. With adults and children both, I try to capture their true self and match their energy for the session.

I donโ€™t know how to act or what to wear in front of a camera! Can you help me?

Yes! First of all, most of my clients think that they are too awkward in front of the camera. I even feel that way when I am having my photo taken! Even so, final photos never show that awkwardness! To help you feel more comfortable, I have created client session guides for my various services. The client guides will cover what to expect, what to wear, and how to prepare for your session!

How do I schedule a free consultation or book with you?

You can fill out my contact form or email me to schedule a consultation or book with me! Consultations can be done in person, on the phone, or virtually. Once you reach out or after your consultation, I will send you a quote. Whenever you are ready, you can finalize booking a session or reserve your wedding date by signing a contract and paying the retainer fee! I require a contract and retainer for all of my clients.

Do you have any location recommendations?

I am always open to checking out any location that you have in mind for your session! If you arenโ€™t sure what location to choose, I can help with that! I scout out lots of location options and try to match your preferences for scenic or urban vibe. I also ask that you consider doing an in home session, if the light in your home allows! These sessions are always so special and memorable for my clients. For weddings, the locations for photos can be discussed at your pre wedding planning session.

Do you travel? What are your travel fees?

I love to travel and I am available to travel worldwide! For weddings or sessions taking place more than an hour outside of Atlanta, GA, travel fees will apply. Locations that are 1-3 hours away will incur travel fees for meals and mileage. Locations 3+ hours away will incur travel fees for meals, mileage or airline/rental car costs, and 1-2 nights lodging. These costs vary greatly so it is best to reach out to me to get an exact travel quote. (It is often cheaper than you would think!) For sessions in and around Louisville KY, Indianapolis IN, and Cincinnati OH significant travel discounts will apply.

How quickly will I get my photos?

I deliver wedding photos within 4 weeks of your wedding day and you will receive a few previews within a week of your wedding day. For portrait sessions, I deliver photos within 2 weeks of the session date.

How many photos do you typically deliver?

The amount of photos you receive will depend on how many hours our session is, or how many hours your wedding package includes. Typically, for an hour session I deliver 75+ photos. For a standard 8 hour wedding day, I deliver 600+ photos. Specific photo number guarantees will be outlined in your personalized quote and contract agreement. (If you are worried about not getting enough, donโ€™t worry! Ask any of my clients- I err on the side of overdelivering.)

How are my photos delivered? Will I be able to download them?

Your photos will be delivered via a password-protected online gallery. You will be able to share your gallery link with anyone you want to. Anyone with access to the gallery can download the full resolution photos to their devices or order prints through the gallery. In addition to the gallery, wedding clients will receive a personally designed slideshow, highlighting the best photos from your wedding day.

Where can I get my photos printed? Can I order an album through you?

Although you can print your photos anywhere, I recommend printing them directly from your gallery! It is easy and all orders are fulfilled through White House Custom Color, a professional print house. Photo albums can also be designed and customized directly from your gallery. If you decide to print with an outside printing lab, I recommend choosing a professional lab such as MPIX or Nations Photo Lab. Places like CVS or Walmart will not provide very high quality prints. Some outside photo labs will require a print release, which I will provide at the time of delivery.

Do you deliver RAW or unedited photos?

Under no circumstances will I deliver RAW or unedited photos. This is outlined in all of my contracts.

Do you backup my photos?

I have a very thorough backup process and I have never lost wedding photos for any wedding in the past, but I understand the concern! While taking photos, my camera writes every shot to two memory cards. After a session, I back up the photos on two hard drives and a cloud backup, until the final gallery is delivered. Following the gallery delivery, I generally will keep the final photos for business use, but I cannot guarantee that I will have them indefinitely if you were to lose them. These details are also outlined in my contracts!

Do you photograph weddings alone? Should I opt for a second photographer?

I shoot most weddings alone, and I have been working this way since the formation of my photography business. (I do bring an assistant to some weddings to help with technical/admin things, which is at my discretion and no cost to you.) I personally feel as though one photographer works perfectly in most situations, but if your wedding is particularly large, you may want to consider opting for a second photographer. The second photographer will take photos on your wedding day, and then hand them over to me to edit and deliver. If you think this is something you might need, feel free to discuss it with me during your consultation!

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes! I have business liability insurance and if your venue requests, I can provide a certificate of proof.

What are your covid 19 related policies?

The safety of my clients is my number one priority, especially during times where covid transmission is high. I take serious precautions in my personal life, and I am fully vaccinated (as is my husband). During our consultations and sessions, I will wear a mask and check my temperature prior to arriving. I also get tested on a weekly basis. While my clients cannot wear a mask while being photographed, I ask that all clients inform me of any symptoms or international travel prior to our sessions. Any sessions cancelled or rescheduled last minute due to symptoms of or exposure to covid 19 will not incur any cancellation/rescheduling fees. All of my covid policies will also be thoroughly outlined in my contracts. You can find more information on covid 19 and your vaccination options here.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact me. More detailed information about each service is covered in my session information guides, which i provide after you send an inquiry.
